The road to 100…goals made easy.
I like setting goals. I like setting goals for all aspects of my life. In the past I set things out like top 5 in beginner DH race or complete a 10K in the next 6 months. This year I decided to step it up a notch and put some rather long goals that will keep me driving all year round instead of a one time, one event type thing. I thought this will keep me driving hard all year…
Being that it is 2010, I decided to think about my workout goals in 10s. 10 Races, 10 runs or 10 road trips…something like that, you get the point. I then started thinking anything that comes in 10s isn’t that challenging. So how can I really raise the level of my goals that will be hard to achieve, that will keep me committed, that might be in the back of my head when the weather in sunny Seattle isn’t that nice out or remind me at 5am when I set my alarm to head to the gym. Then I thought 100s I will do goals in 100s!
I offer you visibility to my goals in 2010
- 100 games of Ice hockey
- 100Ks of racing (running)
- 100 days of running outside
- 100 days at the gym
- 100 miles of organized rides
Some other goals that the corporate world calls stretch goals (insert finger in throat):
- Oyster Race
- Multi-Sport Event (Mountains to Sound)
- Hockey Tournament
- Triathlon
These were set back in January but woudl love to hear your feedback. Are these hard enough? Where could I go bigger? Which ones do you think I can’t make?
I will share my status sometimes next week as the quarter check point.
Did you really reference corporate stretch goals?!?!
Knowing that you’ll be doing road rides as well as mtb, 100 miles is pretty short. What about 100 miles of mtb and 1000 miles of road. Step it up, go big!
