About E-Bike Battery Certification

Certified e-bike/scooter batteries meet safety and quality standards set by recognized testing organizations, such as UL , ETL , TÜV or CSA . Certification ensures the battery has been tested for risks like overheating, short-circuiting, and fire hazards.

Using a certified battery helps protect riders, property, and the environment—especially important in urban and indoor settings where fire risk is a concern.

To check certification:
  • Look for UL or other NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) labels on the battery pack or documentation.
  • Review the product listing on the manufacturer’s website or manual.
  • Ask the retailer or manufacturer directly if certification isn’t clearly listed.

Always choose certified components to ensure compliance with local safety regulations and insurance requirements.

If you're not sure about the certification, you can always ask the retailer or manufacturer directly.
We recommend adding a photo of the battery certification to your registration.
