About E-Bike Battery Certification
Certified e-bike/scooter batteries meet safety and quality standards set by recognized testing organizations, such as
UL
,
ETL
,
TÜV
or
CSA
.
Certification ensures the battery has been tested for risks like overheating, short-circuiting, and fire hazards.
Using a certified battery helps protect riders, property, and the environment—especially important in urban and indoor settings where fire risk is a concern.
To check certification:
- Look for UL or other NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) labels on the battery pack or documentation.
- Review the product listing on the manufacturer’s website or manual.
- Ask the retailer or manufacturer directly if certification isn’t clearly listed.
We recommend adding a photo of the battery certification to your registration.
