Your bike information

If you need help finding your serial number, check out our handy guide.

529 Shield

The shield ID will be 7 characters with no numbers.

Other label ID

Do not forget to add a shield to your bike frame. When a stolen bicycle is recovered by Long Beach PD, having a shield on the frame is very important because it allows PD to look up the ID number of the shield in nationwide data base and contact the owner. You can pick up a bike shield at one of our participating bike shops for free while supplies last.

Tips

Use a cable lock for securing accessories and a highly rated U-Lock to secure your frame.

Secure your back wheel and frame with a highly rated U-lock to an approved bike rack.

How to Report a Bike Theft

If your bike has been stolen, it's important to report it to Long Beach Police Department in addition to marking it as stolen in the 529 Garage. The police report helps our community better understand the scope of the problem and will also be required to retrieve your bike when located.

Step 1:

Start an alert on your bike on the 529 Garage website or app.

If your bike isn't registered, register it first with all the information that you have about your bike, and then start the alert.

Go to your garage
