For example, if police find your bike and you have shared your phone number, they can call you to confirm your bike is missing and sieze the bike even if you have not reported it missing with us yet. 529 Shield ID

What is a 529 Shield?

The shield ID will be the 7 character (no numbers) code on the of your shield decal. If you don't have a 529 Shield, leave the field blank. If you get one later, you can add it to your bike registration.

Other label ID

After you register, we will coordinate with Student Affairs Technology Services to activate your BeaconCard for access to the secured bike shelter. Once your access is confirmed, we’ll send you an email so you can pick up your free shield from our office between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday. Shields are optional but strongly encouraged as a visual deterrent and registration aid. This benefit is available to students and employees registering a bike, e-bike, scooter, or e-scooter.

How to Report a Bike/Scooter Theft

If your bike or scooter is missing, it's important to report it to law enforcement - this helps the police better understand the scope of the problem. It will also be necessary for an insurance claim or to collect it from any law enforcement agency that recovers the bike. To report your bike or scooter, follow the steps below:

Step 1:

Start an alert on your bike/scooter on the 529 Garage website or app.

If aren't registered yet, you can register first with all the information that you have about your bike/scooter, and then start the alert.
